We are a bilingual early childhood recreation program located in Boone, North Carolina, dedicated to providing a rich and inclusive learning environment for children and families.

Our Mission and History

At Casita Monte, our mission is to provide cultural enrichment, diversity, inclusion, and flexible, bilingual programs that foster a love for learning and promote community engagement. We believe in creating a nurturing environment that encourages children to embrace their unique identities while holding space for a diverse and loving community.

Options for Diverse Needs

as we structured our program before opening and in our early months, we noticed critical gaps in local care for: 

-infants under 2 years of age 

-programs that focused on evidence-based learning 

-programs with educational-based leadership to optimize learning and milestone development 

-programs that offered long-term care with at least an 8-hour day for working parents

-programs with sufficient outdoor learning environments in nature, which are beneficial to spacial, cognitive, and sensory development in early ages 

-programs that parents with multiple children who aren't yet in school could keep their children in together for continued shared learning and development until they are ready for school. 

As a nonprofit-sponsored program, we fill these gaps through intentionally designed structure, leadership that includes doctoral-level education in the field of education, a location with a large, natural outdoor classroom space, and a dynamic learning environment that allows for scaled learning at any age!

Our intentional, bilingual curriculum design offers an authentic multicultural immersion from marginalized perspectives. Daily schedules and program themes support the delivery of activities that engage our students in authentic cultural immersions that center community care and self-discovery.

We are committed to developing young minds with open hearts and strong spirits by providing authentic bilingual early childhood education. Studies show that the more languages a child is exposed to in early years, the broader their dominant language vocabulary is in later life.
